The Society of St. Ursula organized a two-day Skill Training Program on “Holistic Approach to Health and Wellness” under the inspiring leadership of our efficient nurses, Srs. Karuna Sadaphal and Chitra Borde.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Sr. Preeti Margaret (BS)on 29th–30th January 2026 at Prerna Bhavan Health Centre. , Vyara, Gujarat. Around 20 sisters engaged in the socio-medical apostolate, along with a few sisters from the education ministry, actively participated in this enriching program.

The first day focused primarily on theory. The resource person emphasized the importance of promoting health through herbal medicine, complemented by meditation, exercise, and healthy dietary practices. The session highlighted the need to adopt a holistic approach that integrates body, mind, and spirit.
Highlights of the Day:
* Participants were divided into four groups.
* Each group was assigned at least two types of herbal medicines to prepare.
* Under the expert guidance of Dr. Sr. Preeti Margaret, the sisters worked with dedication and enthusiasm to prepare the medicines.
The participants learned to prepare the following herbal remedies:
• Hemoglobin Tonic
• Heart Tonic

• Varicose Vein Oil

Recently, two of our sisters underwent Intensive Training on Integrative Healing and Alternative Therapies (IHAT – 2025) at Ayeusha Centre for Healing and Integration, run by the Medical Mission Sisters.
Sr. Karmela SU, who attended the course, served as a valuable resource person during the workshop. She shared her knowledge of auricular therapy, a healing method based on acupressure points around the ear lobe. Tiny ear seeds are applied for a specific period to help relieve pain and promote healing in corresponding organs.
She demonstrated various relaxation techniques and personally guided the participants as they practiced the method. This simple, natural, and self-induced therapy offers accessible and effective relief. The sisters were also introduced to the benefits of biomagnetic bracelets for overall well-being.

The training program left the participants feeling inspired, rejuvenated, and empowered with practical tools to enhance their personal health and the wellness of those they serve in their missions.
At the conclusion of the two-day program, the sisters enjoyed a short outing that refreshed them with renewed energy and vigor.
With hearts full of gratitude, the participants dispersed, committed to promoting holistic health and wellness in their communities and apostolates.
